The Ultimate in Transcoding Speed
A Suite of Tools for Accelerated Processing
Speed to market is a critical factor for monetizing VOD content. Vantage Gateway employs a number of technologies to accelerate your entire video pipeline, from ingest and queuing to processing and delivery, assuring that we meet — or exceed — your need for speed.
Ludicrous HLS Processing
Our proprietary Ludicrous Mode lets you process long-form HD, 4K and HDR content in a fraction of real time. This ultra-fast solution segments the source video into small chunks, transcodes the chunks in parallel, stitches them back together, and then packages the file for delivery. With Ludicrous Mode you can process a two-hour HD movie into nine output renditions packaged for HLS in just 15 minutes — time savings that put your content in front of viewers before any other service.
IBM Aspera FASP High-Speed File Transfer
Transferring video to and from an IBM Aspera Enterprise server or Aspera Connect server to Vantage Gateway using FASP file-transfer technology provides accelerated and encrypted file transfer, as well as support for extremely large file sizes. Aspera FASP transfers video files hundreds of times faster than traditional FTP/HTTP, and guarantees delivery time regardless of file size, transfer distance or network conditions. Complete security is built-in, including endpoint authentication, on-the-fly data encryption and integrity verification.
Using the FASP protocol, Vantage Gateway customers can automate the transfer of files via a simple API call. This merging of technologies makes short work of ingesting source content and then delivering your encoded files to any global destination. Our extensible XML API is easy to integrate, and is a great white-label option for leveraging cloud encoding in user-generated video sites, content management systems and desktop applications.
Amazon S3 File Transfer
Vantage Gateway is deeply integrated with Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3), providing users with a highly efficient and secure workflow that offers a host of benefits, including:
Lightning fast file transfer to and from your S3 bucket, as we will process your media in the same data center
Instant video processing, as we begin transcoding your file as soon as the initial bytes hit our platform, eliminating the need to wait for a complete file download
Full support for Amazon S3 ACL permissions for destination URLs, pre-signed URLs for source and destination locations, Canonical IDs and Assume Role permissions for your output videos.
Vantage Gateway users requesting streaming content are automatically routed to the Amazon CloudFront CDN edge location best suited to serve their stream, ensuring the highest possible bitrate, and therefore the highest quality video stream.
Concurrent Processing
Whether you have five files or five thousand, we automatically scale the necessary resources to process your files simultaneously in a snap. Our Smart Watch Folders® make encoding large batch jobs even easier.
Maximum Queue-Time SLAs
While we maintain the fastest average queue times in the industry (under 10 seconds), we believe that enterprise-class encoding workflows should also be guaranteed by a performance-based SLA. That’s why we introduced queue-time SLAs in 2009 to assure that no job sits in a queue longer than two minutes — whether you send us one job with one output or 1,000 jobs with 10 outputs. This guarantee is especially critical when processing large libraries or when overall job turnaround time is critical.
Fast Egress & Delivery
Our service lets you efficiently deliver media to multiple CDNs, cloud storage locations, on-premise storage or other destinations in one step simply by specifying each destination in your job request. Whether it’s Amazon S3, Rackspace, Akamai or some other location… we make it easy to get your content where it needs to be.
Global Data Centers
Take control of where your processing occurs. Vantage Gateway is deployed in over 18 AWS and Azure data centers around the globe to ensure you can process content in close proximity to your source media’s location and reduce latency in video transfer times.
