HDR Workflows
Provide the Ultimate Viewing Experience
Delivering high dynamic range content is bitrate-intensive, demanding the use of today’s most efficient compression codecs, such as HEVC/H.256 and VP9. Vantage Gateway helps reduce the challenge of managing an HDR workflow in-house and allows you to scale as needed to meet growing consumer demand.
Highlights
Support for the four most common HDR formats: Dolby Vision, HDR10, HDR10+ and HLG
Distribute HDR content to the growing universe of streaming services, TVs and mobile devices
Our split and stitch architecture provides ultra-fast processing of HDR content
Support for Dolby Atmos and metadata sidecar files (.xml)
Use of DV metadata embedded into source video to create DV outputs
Dolby Vision
When compared to standard video images, Dolby Vision delivers fidelity never before seen on cinema and television screens, with highlights that are up to 40 times brighter and blacks that are 10 times darker.
Vantage Gateway is a certified Dolby Vision provider. We’ve worked closely with Dolby Laboratories to ensure that you can deliver the highest quality content to all Dolby Vision-supported devices. The result is a simpler, faster way to provide the ultimate viewing experience across virtually all viewing platforms. We offer the latest format functionality, including:
• Profile 5 and Profile 8.1 encoding from Dolby Vision content masters.
• Approximated Profile 4 and Profile 8 representations from SDR sources without grading.
• HDR10 and downsampled SDR outputs from Dolby Vision content masters.

HDR10
HDR10 is an open-source format supported by many TV and video monitor manufacturers, gaming systems and streaming platforms. It utilizes the Rec. 2020 color space, 10-bit sampling and SMPTE ST 2084 (PQ) transfer function, as well as static metadata values for elements such as MaxCLL (Maximum Content Light Level) and MaxFALL (Maximum Frame-Average Light Level).
We help you efficiently transcode, package and distribute HDR10 content to the widest possible number of devices.

HDR10+
The open-source HDR10+ format updates HDR10 with dynamic metadata that allows frame-by-frame color and brightness level adjustments. It also supports up to 4,000 nits of peak brightness, compared to 1,000 nits for HDR10, resulting in a far more realistic picture.
We’re a certified provider of HDR10+, which is supported by a growing list of media vendors, including 20th Century Fox, Samsung, Panasonic and Amazon Video.
HLG
Originally designed for broadcasters, Hybrid Log-Gamma (HLG) is an HDR format supported by a number of streaming video services, including YouTube, DirecTV, BBC iPlayer and Freeview Play.
We make it easy to implement HLG within your VOD files, which can be employed with the VP9 codec to compress HDR sources to SDR outputs, or to repackage an HDR source into HDR web-friendly formats.
